Megastar Chiranjeevi has merged his Praja Rajyam Party into Congress in 2011 i.e., two years after the 2009 elections. But then, a few months before that, Eenadu has dropped a hint about it in an article titled ‘Jenda Peekeddham’. Chiranjeevi called for a Pressmeet and lambasted Eenadu.
The Megastar later merged PRP into Congress and took a cabinet berth for himself. But then, here is a shocking revelation about the merger. The merger may have got delayed but the decision to merge took place just a day after the 2009 results. This was revealed by Undavalli Arun Kumar in his book, ‘YSR tho…’
“A day after the 2009 results, YS and me sat for a dinner. He asked me to take a printout of an email and hand it over to Sonia Gandhi. But he insisted that I dont read it. I said it is not possible because I dont know how to print and my PA will have to do it. He will anyways read it,” Undavalli wrote.
“He then told me Chiranjeevi is ready to merge his party into Congress and a cabinet berth should be reserved to him. I was shocked and said it is not even 24 hours after the result. It is like a new bride eloping even before her mehendi is dried. How will people accept it?,” Undavalli asked YSR.
“He told me my majority has come down from 1.5 Lakh to 2,000 because of Chiranjeevi impact and we should get that votes at any cost. Don’t worry much. We are just reserving a cabinet berth for Chiranjeevi. The merger will happen later,” Undavalli mentioned in his book.
The pictures of the book pages are becoming viral social media surprisingly three years after its publication. TDP fans are fuming at Chiranjeevi for this. “He looks like an agent of YSR to divide the anti-Government vote. You would sell off a party in just 24 hours after the result,” they are fuming at Chiranjeevi.
