People do analyze the three and a half years rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy in different ways. Whichever people call it but it is obvious that there is too much focus on freebies and less on investments, infrastructure, and job creation.
Some say freebies are actually good and others say the line has been crossed.
Keeping aside that discussion, it is an unarguable fact that this three and a half years rule has changed the political culture in Andhra Pradesh.
Crossing all lines of decency and the usage of Vulgar language has become a norm in Andhra Pradesh politics.
The Ruling Party leaders have gone to the extent of repeatedly targeting Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneshwari and daughter-in-law Brahmani who is always aloof from politics.
When it happened the first time, the entire state got shocked. But then, it has become routine and similar comments are made every other day.
That means the leaders are no longer worrying if the people will detest such behavior.
After maintaining some restraint initially, some second-level TDP leaders also started replying in the same language. There is a toxic environment everywhere and this will definitely have a bad influence on society and will also create a very wrong impression about politics in the minds of the young.
Leaders who are legalizing and normalizing this behavior will also set a wrong example and deplete the moral fabric of society.
Incidentally, the neighboring Telugu state, Telangana is so better in this. Let us see if a course correction can come in any way or from anywhere.
