Shocking, Telangana State Government Blames Elections for DengueIn what can be termed as an irresponsible explanation, Telangana Government has informed the State High Court that it could not tackle dengue deaths in the state due to the Model Code of Conduct in force due to elections. This is the explanation given by Telangana Chief Secretary SK Joshi when the High court fumed at the state’s inability to control the dengue crisis.

The court observed that the dengue cases had risen from 85 in January to 3800 in October. This is a very conservative figure and it would go several times higher if the government strictly collects the data from the Private Hospitals. Dengue is rampant in Hyderabad this season like never before in the past.

Deaths were also high due to Dengue this year. The Government has failed completely in taking measures to control Mosquito menace. If the government or the bureaucracy says it is busy with the elections, it will only speak ill of their commitment to the people and their health.

With this kind of lethargy in the government, Courts better instill senses to behave more responsibly.
