The ‘American dream’ turned into a nightmare for four members of the Patel family last year as they were forced to proceed on the American-Canadian border to gain illegal entry into the US. On the day they perished, the temperature was -31F, and the conditions were more than harsh.
The family of four hailed from Dingucha in Gujarat, and that included Jagdish Baldeshbhai Patel39, his wife Vaishaliben Patel, 37, and two of their children, Vihangi Patel, 11 and Dharmik Patel, 3. They were found dead near Emerson, Manitoba, about 40 feet from the Canada-US border on Jan 19, 2022.
Indian law officials have been following the case, and they have found two people, Bhavesh Patel and Yogesh Patel, from Vastrapur in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, two others, Fenil Patel and Bittu Paji from Canada, are absconding.
On that fateful day, 11 embarked on the arduous journey to fulfill their dream, but the Patel family met with death en route.
