Chennai Super KingsChennai Super Kings are the second most successful franchise in the much celebrated Indian Premiere League. They enjoy the biggest fan base amongst all franchises in the league.

Incidentally, the latest developments are such that there’s a movement to ban and possibly eradicate CSK completely from IPL.

In the Tamil Nadu assembly today, Pattali Makkal Katchi party called for a ban and also affirmative action against CSK. The party has 3 MLAs in Tamil Nadu assembly and they had a strong argument to make against CSK.

Their argument is that CSK, being a Chennai-based franchise, doesn’t have a single Tamil player in the team. So, the party called for a ban on the MS Dhoni-led team and demanded it to be removed completely from IPL.

Well, CSK was already banned for a couple of years – 2016,17 over match fixing incidents. Now, there’s a movement in the Tamil Nadu assembly itself to ban and also remove the team from IPL over the reason that the team doesn’t have any Tamilians in it.

The reason might not be a consolidated enough one but the fact that a party took it up in the assembly is leaving a section of CSK fans sweating. Funnier things have happened both in politics and cricket so this can’t be written off completely.
