AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister, Sharmila is trying her luck in Telangana politics. She will announce her political entry next month at a public meeting in Hyderabad. The name of the party will be announced at another public meeting in Khammam in June.
On the other hand, it is reliably learned that Sharmila is looking to contest from Palair of Khammam district or Secunderabad in the coming elections. Khammam district has considerable effect of Andhra Pradesh politics. Khammam Lok Sabha segment is the only Lok Sabha constituency won by YSR Congress in 2014 elections.
Secunderabad, on the other side is one of the constituencies with the highest Christian population. It is obvious why Sharmila is contemplating to contest from there. Sharmila is targeting nothing less than the Chief Minister position of Telangana in next election and is heavily banking on Reddy and Christian polarization.
She is currently having series of meetings of YSR supporters districtwise and is also busy finalizing the Mandal-wise committees to take care of the party affairs in every village of the state.
