The leaders of the Ruling Party in Andhra Pradesh often criticize Chandrababu Naidu for taking the route of Zoom meetings to address media in the middle of the pandemic. They detest it as if it is a mistake. But then, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister, YS Sharmila is doing the same in Hyderabad.
Sharmila has closed her Lotus Pond Headquarters for the past few weeks due to the COVID second wave. She has just started addressing the media and people through Zoom meetings. Her first such address is regarding the appointment of medical staff on a contract basis.
She demands the KCR Government take them on a permanent basis. Meanwhile, be it Chandrababu Naidu or Sharmila for that matter should be ideally avoiding unnecessary congregations in the middle of a pandemic. That is also the case even with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
We have barely seen Jagan out of his Tadepalli camp office for a very long time. It is just that Chandrababu addresses people from his residence in Hyderabad while Jagan sits in his residence of Andhra Pradesh. Politicians can not avoid elections like how students can not skip the exams. It’s better if they avoid the rest.
