Seven Months Ago, Union Water Resources Minister, Nitin Gadkari announced that he will review the progress of Polavaram Project works by personally visiting the Project site every fortnight. But then, as always, the minister did not find the time.
Finally, Gadkari is visiting the Project Site on 11th of this month. With the Minister’s visit ahead, the State Government is hoping for the Stay order on the Stop Works Order issued by the National Environmental Appellate Authority.
The Central Government which has been extending the stay year after the year did not extend it after it expired on Monday. The State Government claims that Polavaram Project Construction is 56% complete so far and is hopeful of giving water through gravity by 2019.
