covid second wave andhra pradeshThe COVID situation in Andhra Pradesh seems to be going out of hand. The state has been continuously clocking over 20,000 cases per day in recent times. The other day, there have been 85 deaths in a single day. The actual number of cases is likely to be even more, the experts say.

The other day, Union Government released a list of thirty worst-hit districts in the country where the coronavirus cases are rising at an alarming rate. Andhra Pradesh has seven districts on this list. These thirty districts have more than a 20% positivity rate.

Chittoor, Srikakulam, East Godavari, Guntur, Vishakapatnam, Anantapur, and Kurnool are the seven districts. Kerala tops the listing with 10 districts and AP is second in 7 districts. There are 3 districts in Karnataka, 2 in Tamil Nadu, 2 in Haryana, 2 in Maharashtra, 2 in Madhya Pradesh, one every in Bihar, and Uttarakhand.

According to the bulletin released last evening, Andhra Pradesh has got 22,204 new COVID-19 cases and 85 deaths reported on May 3rd.
