Meanwhile, all eyes are on the second storage tank with 2,500 metric tonnes of Styrene which is a potential danger to the nearby villages.

A report in Times of India says that the officials agree that unless the second storage tank was neutralized, the evacuated people cannot be moved back to their dwellings. The second storage tank capacity is of 2,500 metric tonnes while the leakage has happened only from the 1,800 MT tank.

“The Danger is not over until the second tank is neutralized,” the officials say. Even after more than two and half days of the incident, no arrests have yet been made in this case so far. On the other side, experts say that the effect on the environment due to this leakage will last at least for a decade.

On the other side, affected families staged a protest before the company this morning demanding immediate shutdown.
