Yet again, the United States is plagued by another day of horror with a mass shooting. Ironically, Memorial Day long weekend is making headlines not for any positive news but for the tragic loss of lives due to this act of violence.
Just yesterday, Chicago was in the spotlight, reporting 11 fatalities and 41 injuries resulting from the Memorial Day weekend violence.
Today, initial reports suggest that a mass shooting at The Boardwalk in Hollywood Beach, Florida has left at least seven individuals wounded.
Hollywood Beach, situated approximately 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of Miami, is a popular beach destination. With the Memorial Day holiday in full swing, an influx of visitors was anticipated. Regrettably, CBS has confirmed that among the victims of this heinous incident are young children.
