Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone to inaugurate Kia Motors in Anantapur today. There is a lot of discussion going on in Social Media about why an inauguration now when the plant already started production and even the cars from this plant are on roads.
Keep aside that discussion, the Chief Minister went there and finished the so-called inauguration. Jagan’s own media, Sakshi covered the event extensively and in the process, repeatedly claimed that the plant has come to Andhra Pradesh due to pursuance of Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Apparently, YSR wrote a letter to Kia Motors CEO to establish a plant in AP and the company remembered that till 2015 and came here. Finance Minister, Buggana Rajendranath Reddy made similar claims in the Assembly and later that was mocked in the Social Media.
Spread over 536 acres, Kia’s plant has been set up with an investment of over a billion US dollars in Penukonda in Anantapur district. YSR Congress vehemently opposed this plant way back when it is in Opposition and the party leaders even staged a dharna before the site. Jagan himself promised to do justice for the farmers from whom the lands were grabbed and given to Kia.
