Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu the other day felicitated Badminton Player, Kidambi Srikanth who defeated World and Olympic Champion Chen Long to win Australian Open Super Series last week. This item has become a Main Paper Item in Sakshi Newspaper.
A few trolls of YSR Congress in Social Media have twisted Chandrababu Naidu’s comments at the event and shockingly, Sakshi carried a Banner Item basing on such trolls. Stressing the importance of Sports, Naidu expressed his desire to magnificently facilitate anyone who wins a gold medal in Olympics.
On the same occasion, he recalled his earlier announcement at Tirupati Science Congress, of giving 100 crore rupees prize money to the Nobel Prize winners in science. Naidu’s words were twisted saying that the Chief Minister will announce a Nobel Prize to whoever wins an Olympic Medal.
This seems to be a new low to the journalism standards of Sakshi and its editorial team. Interestingly, Sakshi did not even mention Kidambi’s comments that Badminton existed in Andhra Pradesh just because of Chandrababu Naidu’s Patronage. This type of behavior will only kill its credibility.
