Election Commission has served notices to Sakshi TV Channel Chief Editor regarding the Channel’s Extensive Coverage of Jagan’s Nandhyal By-Election Campaign. Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) sent a report to EC that Sakshi is telecasting Jagan’s Campaign for 5-6 hours a day.
This is against the norms of the Election Commission when Model Code of Conduct is in force and will be treating that as Paid News and will be added to the Party’s Candidate Election Expenses. EC asked Sakshi why disciplinary action should not be taken on it for this.
But then, it is an open secret that Sakhi is a mouthpiece of YSR Congress. Sakshi is owned by Jagan’s wife, Bharathi Reddy and the channel openly flaunts its affiliation with YSR Congress by displaying YSR on its Top-Right Corner always.
