YSRCP_Sajjala_Ramakrishna_Reddy_YSR Congress, the other day, suspended four MLAs who cross-voted for TDP candidate, Panchumarthi Anuradha in the MLC elections under the MLAs’ quota.

The four members are – Anam Ramanarayana Reddy from Venkatagiri assembly constituency, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy from Udayagiri, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy from Nellore (rural), and Undavalli Sridevi from Tadikonda constituency.

“No one really votes for an Opposition candidate just because he is unhappy with his own party or Government. We strongly believe that Naidu had paid not less than Rs 15-20 crore to each of the four MLAs to buy their votes,” Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy said.

He also added that TDP may have assured tickets for them in the upcoming elections.

Sajjala obviously is trying to do the damage control and put up a brave face in this insult.

But then, he is knowingly or unknowingly insulting his own Government.

The Government has everything at its disposal. They have intelligence and police systems that keep an eye on every nook and corner of the state. These MLAs are unhappy with the party for so long. Naturally, the Government will be watching them closely every second.

If Chandrababu really offered them money in one way or the other, the Government should have exposed that in a sting operation. If Sajjala says they THINK Naidu has offered money, he is only shaming his own Government.

YSR Congress has a brute majority in Andhra Pradesh and sings the songs of coming to power with 175 out of 175 seats in 2024.

In such a scenario, political leaders will not even bother about tickets. They will always prefer a party coming to power over a party in the Opposition even if they do not get a ticket.

We have seen leaders deserting TDP and joining YSR Congress before the 2019 elections. No leader will lose one year of power just for a promise of a seat that too in a party that Jagan says will lose for sure.

These kinds of reasons are only to satisfy themselves and to keep the supporters in dark. That way they will also curb the chances of retrospection into what went wrong.
