Birthdays are mostly enjoyable. Especially if you are one of the most powerful persons in the World, the ‘mostly’ turns to ‘surely’. But it is not the case with Sonia Gandhi who is turning 67 today. Personally, she is not in best of her health over the last one year. Also, Congress Party led by her is in severe crisis. The anti incumbency is clearly taking its toll on the UPA government and it is evident from the results of 4 state elections declared yesterday. The opposition party cruised to victory in all the four states.
The Congress President wants to bring her son, Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister candidate for the next general elections but things are getting tougher and tougher every day. The Nation is gripping with Modi mania. Congress President had called off her Birthday celebration as the Nation is mourning the demise of Nelson Mandela. Even if it is not the case, there are no reasons for celebrations.
