Reserve Bank of India will be releasing the new lower denomination note of 200 as soon as next month. The printing of the first batch of 200 rupee note in June and the printing will finish this month. The introduction of 200 Notes will ease out currency availability.
Currently, two RBI printing press under Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited from Mysuru and Salboni are printing it. Buzz is that the government is also preparing the gradual decline of 2000 rupee currency note which was introduced last year.
Banks and ATM maintaining companies have already reported that the supply of 2000 Notes from RBI is almost stopped and 500s are the only higher denominations that are coming into the system which validates the phasing out of 2000 Notes.
