It is known that Telangana Rashtra Samiti is very weak in Khammam and Hyderabad region since its inception. The party managed to bag 3 MLA seats in GHMC and it managed to open its tally in Khammam. KCR is seriously concentrating on the district so as to consolidate TRS base in the new state. Last month we have some news of Senior TDP leader, Tummala Nageswara Rao is joining TDP but that did not happen.
The MPP elections held in Khammam district on Wednesday only showcased that TRS had to do lot of hard work in the district. Usually local elections are always in favour of the ruling parties but the ruling TRS in Telangana failed to open its account here. TDP won the majority of 18 seats out of the total 39 MPP seats here. Incidentally, YSR Congress which almost shut its shop in Telangana managed to win two. Traditionally TDP is strong in the district but the lack of coordination between Senior leaders Tummala Nageswara Rao and Nama Nageswara Rao costed the party dearly in recent elections.
