IIM-APIt is known that the Central government sanctioned The prestigious IIM for Vishakapatnam. The classes will begin in the next academic year in temporary campus at Andhra University. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh government allotted lands owned by government at Bheemaram near Vishakapatnam for the permanent construction.

However these lands are occupied by some local farmers for several years and are cultivating them. While the law permits government to take back these lands with out paying compensations.

The farmers are resisting the land collection. The government may have to shell them compensation or show them alternate livelihood to hive up the lands. The state government may push in for this option as it do not want any delay in the IIM.
