The number of infections in America has crossed 500,000. In the past 24 hours, the country has registered more than 2,000 COVID-19 deaths in a single day with 2,108 fatalities. This is the first time a country has registered more than 2000 Coronavirus deaths.
New York followed by New Jersey accounts for the majority of the death cases reported so far. Both states have one of the highest concentrations of Indian-Americans in the country. Sources say that more than 40 Indian-Americans have lost their lives due to this contagious virus.
They also say that more than 1,500 are tested positive for the virus. Among those who have died in the fight against the coronavirus. Kerala has the highest number of fatalities with 17 deaths followed by Gujarat (10), Punjab (4), Andhra Pradesh (2), and Odisha (1).
At least 12 Indian nationals have died in the US due to the contagious virus. However, their families back home could not see them for one last time since the rule of the United States do not allow the bodies to be handed over to their families or air-lifted to India.
