registrations stopped in capitalThe registrations department of Andhra Pradesh reportedly had given a oral instruction to sub-registrars in Mangalagiri, Tadikonda and Amaravati not to accept any requests for registration of house sites till further instructions.

They also halted the registrations in unauthorized layouts identified by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). These unauthorized layouts amount about 250 acres spread over 134 layouts. However registrations continue to take place at Harischandrapuram, Pedaparimi and Vaddamanu in Tulluru mandal.

It is alleged that the government has taken such step to strap the land owners who are filing objections to the land pooling scheme. On the other side, CRDA claims that there is no such ban in place. They only say CRDA had provided a list of illegal layouts with survey numbers and had asked the registration department not to register plots there.
