Reddys were dominant caste in the Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Politics along with Kammas. However Reddys totally became insignificant in Telangana with the state bifurcation. Despite several top leaders hail from the community, there is very little percentage of Reddys population in Telangana.
It is said that politicians and business honcos of the community have come to an understanding that they should all work together irrespective of parties to bring significance to the community. According a Newspaper was launched in Telangana with a pooled fund of 50 Crore.
The newspaper will be headed by a Senior Telangana journalist and is expected to commence operations by Ugadi in the month of March this year. The political inclination of this Newspaper is not yet revealed. We will have to see how far it works in Telangana politics currently dominated by Velamas!
