Anaparthi constituency of East Godavari district is a Reddy bastion. It used to be a bastion for Congress and later, YSR Congress took its place.
But in the 2014 elections, TDP’s Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy won from here with a slender margin.
Satti Suryanarayana Reddy who is known for his service to the poor as an affordable doctor lost on YSRCP ticket in 2014. He won in 2019 with a sensational 55K+ majority.
But then, Suryanarayana Reddy has proved to be too soft for politics. He has been struggling to establish a connection not only with the cadre but also with the general public.
At the same time, TDP in charge Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy is very active in the constituency and has improved his chances.
YSR Congress high command is already notified about what is happening in the constituency and is contemplating changing the candidate for 2024.
Buzz in the constituency is that Kakinada City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy may shift to Anaparthi in 2024. Dwarampudi has community support and also has relatives in the constituency.
