Negligence costed 250 Cr loss in Red Sandal auction!Andhra Pradesh Government is all set to go for the Red Sandal auction for the second time in January. The announcement of the sale of second bunch of Red Sandal through global tenders will take place that month. Government will also again put up for sale the 24 lots which remained unsold in first auction and 36 lots which were sold for less rate.

According to forest departments, the lots remained unsold/sold at lesser rates due to improper dressing (Skin Peeling). These lots will be dressed well and put up for sale. The Chief Minister asked officials to take care of proper dressing for all the lots that will be put up for sale in the second phase.

Andhra Pradesh government has got 885 Crores from the first phase Red Sandal Auction. Metral Scrape Trading Corporation (MSTC) which operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India has taken the responsibility of inviting tenders from the buyers. Andhra Pradesh government even took up extensive publicity in foreign countries so as to attract more buyers.
