Andhra Pradesh Government earlier this month had issued a show-cause notice to the owners of the Polavaram contractor, Transstroy India Ltd asking them to cite the reason for the delay in the works and giving detailed information on how they are planning to complete the project within the stipulated period of time.
Transstroy India Ltd promoted TDP MP Rayapati Samba Siva Rao which bagged the contract during YSR’s time is struggling to execute it. Fearing the financial implications and legal complications, Government tried to fill the gap by bringing reputed Sub-Contractors to fill the gap.
But then, the company is still failing to pick pace which irritated the Chief Minister.The project may now go to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd which has completed several projects like Pattiseema, Handri Neva Sujala Sravanthi, Purushottapatnam and recently Muchumarri lift irrigation in Andhra Pradesh.
