Telangana New Districts Plan, Telangana New Districts Plan Postponed, Telangana New Districts Plan Postponed Diwali, Rains Delay KCR New Districts Plan The announcement of new districts in Telangana may be delayed thanks to the torrential rains that battered the state from the last one week. The entire administrative set-up, including chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is singularly focussed on handling the flood situation in the state and that is likely to delay things.

The State Government had planned to reorganize the administrative structure by having a total of 27 districts by carving out 17 new ones from the existing 10 districts and inaugurate their functioning on Dussehra day. But then as the officials are busy with the flood relief works, they are not finding time to attend to the necessary preparations.

Government sources are however not commenting on the postponement and say the procedure to create new districts is underway. But the sources on anonymity say that at present the top priority is to tackle rains and will focus on other issues only after the rain situation gets under control and life returns to normal. All the ministers and officials are at their respective districts to monitor relief and rescue operations.

However, Telangana Chief Minister will be very much disappointed if that happens. The chief minister wanted to declare creation of new districts on June 2 to coincide with statehood celebration, but then the plans was later postponed to Dussehra as the CM wanted to build a consensus on the issue. Naturally, one more postponement will be disappointing.
