This happened after Rahul’s remark on Modi’s last name which he shares with fugitive businessmen Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi.

A court in Gujarat’s Surat sentenced two years imprisonment to Rahul Gandhi with a 3-day period for appeal.

Cut to now, the court has issued a new order, that disqualifies Rahul Gandhi as a Lok Sabha MP. The order was passed a short while ago and it is making rounds on social media now.

“Consequent upon his conviction by the court of Surat, Shri Rahul Gandhi, Member of Lok Sabha from Wayanad constituency of Kerala, stand disqualified from the membership of Lok Sabha, from the date of his conviction 23rd March, 2023. The Court’s order on Rahul’s disqualification read.

Rahul was disqualified as a member of the member of the Lok Sabha by the Lok Sabha secretariat today.
