PV Sindhu Creates History in Tokyo Olympics

PV Sindhu Creates History in Tokyo Olympics Team India shuttler PV Sindhu made the country proud at the Tokyo Olympics 2021 by winning the bronze medal in women’s badminton singles category.

Sindhu is the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympic medals and thus created history.

Sindhu defeated her opponent He Bing Jiao in two straight sets. She outclassed her Chinese opponent 21-13, 21-15 in the opening sets. The latter was no match to the talented Indian shuttler.

Sindhu is only the second India athlete to win medals in 2 or more Olympics. The first athlete to do so is Sushil Kumar.

“We are all elated by the stellar performance by @Pvsindhu1. Congratulations to her on winning the Bronze at @Tokyo2020. She is India’s pride and one of our most outstanding Olympians. #Tokyo2020 ,” the prime minister Narendra Modi congratulated Sindhu after her historic victory.
