IPS Officer Probing into Drugs Case, Akun Sabharwal has postponed his leave after doubts raised that he was sent on leave under pressure. There were doubts that government has decided to water down the case in which several celebrities were involved.
At least 12 Tollywood celebrities asked to appear in person between July 19th and 27th as part of an investigation into LSD and Cocaine drug racket. It has to be seen how the case will be handled going further in the coming days.
Akun Sabharwal is a 2001 batch Indian Police Service Officer. He is married to Smita Sabharwal, his batchmate in the IAS who is currently posted as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister of Telangana. Smita is a close confidante officer to CM KCR.
