It is known that Telangana government has decided to celebrate the Independence day eve this year at Golconda Fort instead of the usual parade grounds. The revenue officials and Police department have been making arrangements at the fort. Couple of days back, Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao himself visited the area and gave special instructions to the officials regarding the arrangements. However all of these came to a stand still from Tuesday.

Officials of Defence have visited the spot and notified the revenue officials that the area belongs to the defence and they are not going to permit them for Independence day celebrations. They even put on a board that the area belongs to the Defence. Finally district collector intervened and asked both the officials to give him their arguments on Wednesday. It is said that Telangana government has taken the permission of Archaeological Survey of India for the celebrations but not the permission of the Defence authorities.
