Telangana government was taken back by the media reports of issues between the government and the Metro Rail concessionaire, L&T. The issue corned the government and send the officials pillar to post for the damage control. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao had a close door meeting with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and HMRL MD NVS Reddy over the issue. Later the CS and HMRL MD met L&T Chief Executive, MD VB Gadgil and convinced him to give a condemnation statement to media, they also promised to resolve the issues pertaining the project as soon as possible.

The government took the issue so serious that Gadgil had to give the clarification in the media point at secretariat itself. He said, “Yes there are some issues with the project. The company has written the leaked letter on 10th of this month. Such letters and issues are common with big projects like this but the should not have been leaked in the media. Anyways we are confident of sorting the issues and completing the project in stipulated time. Gadgil however condemned that the work of the project is stopped and also reiterated that metro project is profitable venture. But it is known that in the letter written on 10th, L&T mentioned that the project is no longer economically viable in the wake of state division.
