Prime Minister Office of India Closely Observing the Situation in Amaravati?Andhra Pradesh Cabinet will sit in Vishakapatnam on the 27th of this month and will approve the Report of GN Rao Committee. The Cabinet will take a decision on the Three-Capitals proposal. The farmers who have given their lands for Amaravati are in distress and have hit roads for the past few days demanding that the proposal should be rolled back.

Meanwhile, a report in Andhrajyothy Newspaper revealed that the Prime Minister’s Office is closely observing the happenings in Amaravati. The report says that a few officials of the Union Intelligence Bureau are in Amaravati for the last couple of days to ascertain the situation.

Some Senior All India Service Officers working in Andhra Pradesh are also giving inputs to the Prime Minister’s Office. Amaravati farmers are demanding that the Central Government should interfere in this issue and stop this decision of Jagan. Meanwhile, some political experts are saying that the Capital Change is an executive decision of the State Government and the Center may not interfere in this.

The center’s response to this issue may depend on the political strategy of BJP. The State Leaders of the Saffron Party are divided on this issue as some are supporting and the others are differing with the YSR Congress Government. The clarity on this may emerge only after the cabinet takes a formal decision.
