AP transco underground power cables to amaravatiAP Transco had chalked out a 1000 Crore plan for laying of electric cables and other related works for supplying power to the capital region. These works will begin before the actual construction of the capital city is started. After the underground cables are laid, the government will then start laying of roads.

But Power and R&D departments were asked to prepare blue prints taking inputs from the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). Already the design on road grid in Amaravati is completed, but a final approval from experts in CRDA is needed as the CM is being extremely cautious as he does not want to disturb the road grid in the near future.

Al the power works in the capital should be completed before construction of the road network, since all heavy construction activity in the capital city requires uninterrupted power supply. Entire capital city area, sprawled over 16.9 square km, will have 24×7 power supply to the capital city area through high voltage sub-stations and extra high tension (EHT) lines.
