telangana-owes-andhra-pradesh-apgenco-power-dues-paymentTelangana is bracing up a fight with APGenco without paying the pending bills amounting to 4000 Crore while the latter contemplating to stop the power supply. But then this seem to be a problem as Telangana particularly Hyderabad is going to witness a huge power demand.

The peak power supply demand in the city is expected to shoot up to 55 million units per day by May 2017. It was 33 MU in May 2014 before formation of Telangana state. That indicates the Summer is going to bring a Power Threat to the power deficit state and Telangana has to be more vigilant this time.

The peak power demand of about 1,800 MW in the city before June 2014 has crossed 2,400 MW. It is expected to touch 2800 MW in the summer of 2017 and it is attributed to the revival of sick industries. The government has to rely a lot on outside purchases to ensure there is 24X7 supply to Hyderabad if not the whole state.
