All the major Political Parties have rolled out their Television ads. Congress Party is the first in the race with Rahul Gandhi centric ads. The people in the ads say they belong to Congress and believe in Rahul Gandhi’s leadership and vision. However the ads look more like compelling people to believe in Rahul Gandhi as the next heir more than anything else.
On the other side, YSR Congress Ads are more related to the popular schemes of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy like Aarogya Sri, Fees Reimubursement, 108 etc. The ads say these schemes will effectively proceed only if YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is voted to power. Promising of freebies may appeal to the lower sections of the society which form major portion of the electorate.
Telugu Desam Party is the last in TV ads race. The party ads targeted middle class problems like Prices increase, Improper roads management, power problems etc. The ads compare situation during Chandra Babu’s rule and Congress’ rule and ended up saying things will get better only with Chandra Babu coming back to power. These ads look like more appealing to educated, middle class and Urban voters.
However, Congress Party withdrew all the ads with the party suffering very badly in AP due to the bifurcation issue. YSR Congress ads are banned temporarily by Election commission as they did not comply with their regulations. Only Telugu Desam Party’s ads are currently running.
