TRS Party in its previous term has increased the number of districts. The then existing Ten Districts were reorganized into 31 districts without touching the districts of Rangareddy and Hyderabad which means eight districts were reorganized into Twenty Nine districts. CM KCR went on to announce two more districts during Election Campaign.
The process now began for carving out Narayanapeta and Mulugu districts which will take the total to 33. There were allegations that the districts are being reorganized without any rationale and are according to the political needs and ambitions of the ruling government which may create problems in the future.
There are allegations from the Opposition that the districts were increased to 33 intentionally since Three Plus Three is Six which is the lucky number of the Chief Minister. Political Experts say that the districts will not go up further when KCR goes for the Election Campaign for the upcoming Parliament Elections.
