Security is beefed up across the country in the wake of Ram Janmabhoomi – Badri Masjid verdict by Supreme Court today. Security is deployed like never before in various states to avoid the possibility of communal clashes between both the communities.
It is double pressure for the Police in Hyderabad. Along with the issue of Ayodhya Verdict, there is also the Million March call given by the Striking RTC Unions. The entire Tank Bund is cordoned off to prevent protests. Check posts have been set up at entry points to the city to prevent protestors from getting in.
Some RTC union leaders and the Opposition Party leaders have been taken into custody. In the Muslim majority areas and the Old City, almost one Policeman is deployed for every 50 meters. Leaves were canceled for all the Police and forces were deployed for the other districts as well.
As per the reports, the roads in the city wore a deserted look as people preferred to stay indoors. So far, no untoward incident is reported.
