jounalist-protest--tv9-abn

Women Journalists staged a silent protest before Chief Minister’s camp office a short while ago regarding the unofficial ban of TV9 and ABN-Andhra Jyothy channels. Women Journalists protested before the CM with placards like ‘Save Media’, ‘Dont Kill Media in Telangana’ etc. They have demanded that Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao should immediately intervene and resume the channels transmission in the state.

Journalists have lamented that they are not getting salaries from their channels and their families are all set to come on roads. They accused MSOs of not showing proper reason for the ban and not calling channel managements for discussions. Male Police dragged them with Police and even attacked the media vans live telecasting the protest. The women police only came to the spot just before the arrest. The journalists were arrested and taken to Gosha Mahal Police Station.

It is known that the channels were banned by the MSOs of the region for the last three months after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao slammed them in Assembly for airing derogatory news on the region. Media channels management had taken the issue to the concerned officials, central government and the governor but no action is taken from the Telangana government
