PMO Forwards Chandrababu Naidu's Lockdown Strategy to NITI AayogFormer Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu is the Founder Chairman of The Global Forum for Sustainable Transformation (GFST) which is an international organization striving to drive sustainable transformation. The Forum made some recommendations to the Central Government on deeper hotspot management as part of the lockdown strategy on COVID-19.

This model the forum claims balances the health and economic imperatives in formulating the Lockdown strategy. The Prime Minister’s Office has acknowledged the model and asked NITI Aayog to examine the recommendations from GFST.

NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman, Rajiv Kumar wrote to Chandrababu Naidu about the same and added that his team may consult with the research and analytics team at GFST as and when needed. Rajiv termed Naidu’s support as valuable. “I am sure it will greatly augment the efforts being made at various levels”, he said.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of cases in the country are 35,042. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address the nation tomorrow as the Lockdown expires on May 3rd.
