quran_chantingIndian Cinema is presently showing a new trend towards projecting intelligent cinema in the form of recent films like Aamir Khan’s ‘PK and Paresh Rawal’s ‘Oh My God’. In a country where the mention of religion and discussions on religious sentiments may kindle strife, acceptance on these themes is itself a revolution.

PK isn’t just a movie. It is the kind of change one would expect against blunt and cruel blind faith. Any such change is PK. And if PK is a new revolution then any such incident which depicts such change is PK from now onwards. A recent incident that happened in Badaur of Barnala district, Punjab is one right example of such change.

It is learnt that in ‘Gyaara Rudaar Shiv Mandir’ of th e above said place has a separate hall for other religions. One Saket Ali died in an accident. His father is in jail and his mother was so poor that she was unable to perform his last rites. Hence she approached the Shiv Temple authorities for the same.

To complete the last rites for Saket Ali, Quran chanting by Muslim gurus was heard from the temple while Hindu saadhus, sikh gurus and muslims were found listening to the chanting seriously. It is said that such scenes are common in that place since 24 years. Fabulous! Hope we find such incidents more and more where humanity finds its place over religion.
