Wine Shops in Hyderabad TelanganaWith lockdown coming in effect from May 12 in Telangana, tipplers have made serpentine queues outside liquor shops. Huge rush was witnessed outside the liquor shops where people jostled up with each other giving social distancing a toss.

With a huge rush in front of the liquor shops, one can see the long serpentine queues as long as a km. The scene resembles that of Baahubali when people waited in long queues to grab a ticket. With people not adhering to the social distancing, the shop owners found it difficult in managing the crowd.

Several shops in the city from Lakdikapool, Banjara Hill, Narayanguda, Secunderabad and others are seeing heavy rush outside the liquor shops. Meanwhile, with lockdown restrictions, the liquor shop owners have come forward requesting the government to let them open shops after 10 am. The Excise Department is yet to take a decision on this.

Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao announced a lockdown after the intervention of the High Court. The lockdown will be in force for 10-days with an exemption from 6 am to 10 am.
