Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently expanded his cabinet. This is the first expansion after coming to power for the second time. Like never before even in his first time, Modi made huge changes to his team but Andhra Pradesh has got no place in the cabinet even then.
Besides smaller states like Mizoram, Nagaland, and Meghalaya of the North-East, only Andhra Pradesh has got no representation in the Union cabinet. AP is the only big state and the only state from the South to have no cabinet minister.
This is most likely to be the election cabinet which means AP will have no representation in this term of Narendra Modi. Telugu Desam Party has got a couple of ministries when they are in the NDA Government. Since BJP has no prospects and allies in the AP, there are no cabinet ministers from the state since then.
Telangana has sole representation in the Union Cabinet in the form of Kishan Reddy. He has been elevated from MoS to a cabinet minister in the recent expansion.
