Tirupati By-election results are out. The results have arrived as expected. YSR Congress came first, TDP second and BJP-Janasena candidate came third. While the results have arrived as expected for YSR Congress and TDP, they are like eyeopener for both BJP and Janasena.
This is the first major election where Janasena has rallied with BJP. Pawan Kalyan even campaigned for the party but it ended up with a paltry 5% Vote Share losing the deposit. Interestingly, there was a fallout between Janasena and YSR Congress before the election.
Days before the polling, Jagan Government went on to trouble Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab movie. Both BJP and Janasena expected their anger to translate into votes in favor of the BJP candidate which did not happen. Either the fans did not take the issue seriously or their strength is not enough to make an impact.
Back then, the family members of Pawan Kalyan also did not attempt to come in support of him in the issue. BJP despite being the minority partner in the alliance always behaved as if Pawan Kalyan’s star power is irrelevant to them and went on to bully Janasena.
These factors combined may have also ensured that voters did not take Janasena seriously. It is evident that Janasena lacks the teeth to show its muscle in Andhra Pradesh Politics. It’s high time Pawan Kalyan stops overestimating himself and hits the streets to strengthen the party from the basics.
This should have happened immediately after the 2019 elections but Pawan Kalyan tried to take shelter from BJP to feel comfortable. The sooner he realizes his real strength, it’s better for him or he will very soon face the danger of becoming irrelevant to everyone.
As it stands now, Pawan Kalyan is neither a threat to YSR Congress nor TDP.
