Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan recently agreed to be the Brand Ambassador of Handloom Garments and also decided to attend the ‘Chenetha Satyagraha Sabha’ in Mangalagiri tomorrow. But then this meeting is being conducted by Padmashali Caste people and is being branded as Padmashali Gharjana.
However, there 18 castes who depend on Handlooms. The Leaders of these 18 Castes met in Eluru the other day and passed a resolution that Pawan Kalyan should represent the common cause of the people depending on handloom and should not make it a one caste affair. They said this Caste based agenda will defeat the very purpose of Handloom promotion.
“There are about 80 Lakh people who depend on Handlooms. They form 18% of AP Population. But Pawan Kalyan is being misled saying that only Padmashalis are the Handloom workers. This Caste based meetings will only defeat the actual purpose. They should immediately let go the word ‘Padmashali Gharjana’ and work collectively,” they opined.
Pawan Kalyan who claims himself to be aloof from Caste finds himself in Unnecessary Caste Mess. The actor cum politician better avoids this meeting until the leaders of the handloom resolve the differences and come to a common platform. It is really sad that a good cause had taken an ugly turn.
