Major Parties have managed to silence their rebels as much as possible. After the time for nominations withdrawal is complete, only 13 rebel candidates of the main parties are in the fray. Mahakutami has Seven of them and TRS has Six. Around 30-35 rebels in Congress and 16 in TRS were initially in the contest.
the rebel candidates were offered ‘plum posts’ by respective parties if they come to power. Telangana Jana Samiti is effectively contesting only in four seats while there the party will have friendly contests from Congress in four constituencies. TJS which filed nominations in five Congress seats withdrew.
The Parties will still have talks with the Rebels and pacify them to bow out of the contest. That will mean they will effectively not campaign and remain as dummy candidates. After the withdrawals, 1824 candidates are in the fray from 119 constituencies of Telangana. 1760 Candidates Withdrew from the Contest.
