Telugu Desam Party registered a remarkable victory in Graduates‘ MLC elections winning three out of the three seats. This victory will change the landscape of Andhra Pradesh Politics as it exposed the real political situation of the state with elections just one year to go.
The drama is not over yet. The voting for MLAs Quota elections will happen on 23rd March. There are seven vacant seats in this quota. To win a seat, 22-23 votes are needed.
TDP has 23 MLAs in the house and should win but four of its MLAs defected to YSR Congress and so, there is no chance. But still, the Cycle party fielded Panchumarthi Anuradha as it’s candidate.
Minus the four, TDP has 19 votes. There are two YSRCP Rebel MLAs – Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Anam Ram Narayana Reddy. If they vote for TDP, the party needs two more votes.
Defected TDP MLAs – Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Maddali Giri, Vasupalli Ganesh, and Karanam Balaram were issued whip by the TDP party.
If at least two of them or if any of the two YSR Congress MLAs vote, TDP will be able to win a seat and that would be a sensation.
Such a development would cause tremors in the Ruling Party. TDP which is in the Josh of the MLC elections will want something of that sort to happen.
There are rumors that Maddali Giri and Vasupalli Ganesh are not happy with the YSRCP High command. And then, a few TDP supporters feel Karanam Balaram can not refuse if Chandrababu talks to him directly. So, TDP will fancy it’s chances.
On the other hand, Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy announced that they do not feel there is a necessity to issue a whip for this election making it less risky for Rebels.
YSR Congress used to repeatedly mock TDP with the number ‘23‘. They used to connect the number with any bad thing that happens and mocks TDP saying – Idhi Kadha Devudi Script. But the God‘s Script is the same 23rd will be a Panic day for YSR Congress.
