Cherukuvada-Sri-Ranganadha-Raju-JaganPalakollu constituency in West Godavari district is the bastion of the Telugu Desam Party. Except for two, Telugu Desam Party won all the elections that happened here since the party’s inception in 1983.

Nimmala Ramanaidu, the current MLA won two times in a row and is looking confident for a third term. Nimmala is known to be the most active and most accessible MLA across the state. That is the biggest plus point of Nimmala here.

Jagan deployed Kavuru Srinivas as incharge here. He was made the MLC in the local bodies quota. This is to strengthen Srinivas against Ramanaidu. Even then, the ground reports are not favorable.

Buzz in the constituency is that Jagan wants to shift Former Minister and Achanta MLA, Sri Ranganadha Raju to Palakollu since he is a financially strong candidate.

Sri Ranganadha Raju won from Achanta in 2019 due to the Jagan wave and his financial power. But he is known to be not available for the party cadre and the public in the constituency. He disappeared totally after losing his cabinet berth.

Even the YSR Congress cadre believes deploying Sri Ranganadha Raju from Palakollu will be a futile exercise.
