It is an open secret that Pakistan is behind Fake Currency Racket and Funds Terrorism mostly through that. The Demonetization announced on November 8th is mostly to eradicate Fake Currency and the government back then said the new 2000 and 500 Notes are difficult to be Faked.
But then it is said that Fake Currency Presses in Pakistan have successfully managed to replicate 11 out of the 17 security features in these notes. Officials say it would not be difficult to replicate the rest as well. The fact is that there are no additional security features in these notes.
The first bunch of fake notes seized in December were not of very high quality. However, seizures in January only showed that the fake notes had improved and almost 70 per cent of the security features were replicated. Also the notes seized so far are of low quantity indicating that they are only samples to convince the middle men and take the bulk orders.
