Opinion: Kamma Edupe Sarva Roga Nivarana!Amararaja Group headquartered in Tirupati moving its 9500 Crore investment to Telangana has come as a shock to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Tirupati is the strategic location for the investment due to the close proximity to the Chennai ports but still, the Amararaja group decided to go to Telangana due to a hostile government in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh Government has tried to trouble Amararaja in the name of pollution and unused lands just because it belongs to an MP of the Telugu Desam Party.

When NT Ramarao was the Chief Minister, he met Galla Rama Chandra Naidu in Chicago and convinced him to invest in Andhra Pradesh and create employment opportunities in the state.

Galla returned to India and founded Amara Raja Group in Chittoor; the group spun off a number of subsidiaries and currently has an annual turnover of Rs 6000 crore.

Amararaja’s manufacturing units in the Chittoor district are game changers for the district and neighboring areas in Tamil Nadu.

Almost every household in the district has someone among them or their relatives working there.

It is no exaggeration to say the group changed the lives of many. But then, Andhra Pradesh Government was so casual saying ‘We ourselves asked them to leave with folded hands.

As if the reckless statements are not enough, the YSR Congress’s Propaganda factory has started campaigns saying that Amararaja employs only Kammas and does not even allow non-Kammas to enter into Karkambadi headquarters.

These politically-motivated statements are made not at some Kirana store but at a multi-national Conglomerate. Furthermore, it risks the livelihood of 1000s of families in the Chittoor district which stood firmly with the YSR Congress since 2019.

Moreover, the district has less percentage of the so-called Kamma population and the most affected will be the BCs, SCs, and poor and middle-class in the OCs.

Also, it makes a very bad statement of the attitude of the Government towards the investors who are wealth and employment generators.

But then for Jagan, branding everything with Kamma color is an easy route to mask the failures and mistakes. Like Kamme Sarva Roga Nivarana!
