The ongoing PPAs issue between the Telugu states is not solved but a new issue sprouted now. This is regarding the Hinduja Natiional Power Corporation Project in Vishakapatnam. The 1040MW Power Plant was pending for almost 2 decades. In the first phase 520MW power is going to come available in 2-3 months and Hinduja agreed to sell it fully to AP on ERC (Electricity Regulatory Commission) Prices. An MOU regarding this is signed in 2013 between the then government in united state. But a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is not made so far.

But Telangana government is demanding a share of 53.89% according to the division bill allocations from this project too. The government has asked its discoms to make PPAs accordingly. However Andhra Pradesh is not going to honour this request at any cost. They say since PPA is not in place, there is no obligation to share the power with Telangana. On the other side, the committee appointed by the Center to resolve power issues between the two states will have its first meeting in Delhi on 14th of this month.
